Sir John Gordon 5th bart of Earlston, son of James Gordon of Jamaica and Christiana Scarlett, awarded the compensation for enslaved people on Carlton in St James Jamaica as owner and as executor of his sister. Through his wife Juliana James nee Gallimore he was also joint-owner of Greenfield estate in Trelawney.
