Sir John Kirwan Life story
Sir John Kirwan was the founder of the branch known as the Kirwans of Castle Hackett. He acquired Castle Hackett around 1690. Sir John served as Mayor of Galway from 1686 to 1688, and as an M.P. for Galway. He was knighted by James II, King of Scots.
