Sir John Mainwaring Life story
John Mainwaring was the Sheriff of Flintshire (Wales) in 1507-9 (23 & 24 Henry VII) and 1514-5 (6 Henry VIII). Sir John was knighted 25 September 1513 at Tournai, Hainaut (in what is now Belgium), meaning that he was probably present at the Battle of the Spurs (also called the Battle of Guinegate).
