Sir John Proude Life story
Sir John Proude, the son of Serle Proude and Ann Payne, and knight of the realm, was born in 1574, In Goodnestone, Canterbury Parish, Kent, England. He became a professional Army officer and served as a colonel under Prince William of Orange, in the service of the United Netherlands.
