In Miami, former Navy pilot Will Slattery (Richard Widmark) flies a small commercial plane for candy manufacturer R. J. Milne, unaware that Milne is a drug smuggler on the side. Will's girlfriend, Dolores (Veronica Lake), also works for Milne and attempts to warn Will about Milne's activities.
