Slum Dwellers International

Slum/Shack Dwellers International, is a global social movement of the urban poor started in 1996. It forms a network of community-based organisations in 33 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. The SDI secretariat is located in Cape Town, South Africa. The current chairperson is Sheela Patel.
