About Smolenskoye Poozerye National Park
Smolenskoye Poozerye National Park is a forest-wetland ecosystem of 35 lakes and surroundings in the northwest of Smolensk Oblast near the Russian border with Belarus. It is in the basin of the Daugava, about 40 miles north of the city of Smolensk. The park was officially established in 1992.
