Bill Morgan (Chester Morris) and Tommy Ellis (Robert Taylor) are young doctors spending one very long, eventful shift at their hospital. The two treat numerous patients, sometimes with total disregard for hospital protocols, while competing for the affections of fetching nurse Madge Wilson (Virginia Bruce) and struggling to hold on to their ideals.
