About Soldier Girls
This documentary examines a basic-training camp for female soldiers in Fort Gordon, Georgia. Many of the women have joined the army because they have few other options, and arrive at camp not fully aware of the duress they will undergo. Private Johnson, especially, seems to rebel against the tactics of Drill Sergeant Abing, who tests the women's strength with intimidation and demanding exercises -- though he admits later that his experience in the military has made him unfeeling.
