About Sophia Báthory
Sophia Báthory, was a princess of Transylvania by marriage to George Rákóczi II. She was a niece of Gabriel Báthory. She married George Rákóczi II, Prince of Transylvania, on February 3, 1643. Prior to the marriage she was required by his mother to renounce Roman Catholicism in favor of Calvinism.
