Stephen Timoshenko Life story
Stepan Prokopovich Timoshenko, later known as Stephen Timoshenko, was an ethnic Ukrainian, citizen of the Russian Empire and later, an American engineer and academician. He is considered to be the father of modern engineering mechanics.
