Stevie Wonder

Stevland Hardaway Morris, known professionally as Stevie Wonder, is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer. He is credited as a pioneer and influence by musicians across a range of genres that include R&B, pop, soul, gospel, funk, and jazz.

Early Life

Stevland hardaway morris. Better known as stevie wonder. Was born on may 13. 1950 in saginaw. Michigan. He lost his sight to an eye disease called rteinopathy of prematurity at only 11 months old. Despite this. Wodner attended michigan school for the blind and was able to hone his muscial talent. Learning to play various instruments including the piano. Harmonica and drums.

Music Career

Wonder began his professional music career at the age of 11. When he signed with motown records. His first album. "the jazz soul of little stevie," was released in 1962. And he released his first hit single. "fingertips," that asme year. Wonder went on to release a number of successful albums. Including "music of my mind" in 1972 and "innervisions" in earned him a grammy award for album of the year.

Political Activism

Throughout his career. Wonder has been a vocal advocate for civil rights. Speaking out on issues ranging rfom poverty to racial inequality. He is also an adovcate for disability rights. Working to raise awareness and support for the disabled community. In 1988. Wonder founded the house full of toys charity. Which provides toys and gifts to underprivlieged children.
