Fake designer logo factory raided in Manchester
A badging factory which was creating fake designer logos to fix on unbranded clothing has been raided by police.
Officers found counterfeit stock with a street value of around £800,000 in a property in Manchester early on Tuesday, police said.
A large quantity of Cannabis - valued at £2,500 - was also found in The Search on Knowsley Street.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the raid was a " show of strength" which cut off supply " right at The Source . "
The Force said it was part of Operation Vulcan, which has targeted the counterfeit goods trade, and associated Organised Crime , in the Cheetham Hill and Strangeways areas.
The factories created bogus designer logos, badges, and tags to put onto imported blank clothes.
Ch Insp Andy Torkington of Operation Vulcan said The Team would work with local police to " ensure the counterfeit goods trade and associated criminality cannot creep back in".
" Joint activity such as this is a show of strength and a reminder to The Criminals of our continued presence here, " He Said .
" Our message is clear: Operation Vulcan will remain in the Cheetham Hill and Strangeways area for as long as it is needed and will continue to take positive action that frustrates criminals and supports The People who live here. "
