Sentenced to life in a Soviet gulag for his part in a failed MI6 mission, Peter Bergman came to believe that he had been betrayed by his friend Jack Roscoe. Jack thought that Peter had died in the mission, but when he found that he was still alive, he was determined to find and rescue him.
