The Silent Voice

After her second miscarriage, Paula Rogers (Loretta Young) learns she is sterile. On the way to a reception for her professor husband, John (Kent Smith), a distraught Paula accidentally hits an orphan (Tommy Rettig) with her car. Thinking Paula is drunk, farmer Raymond Bascom (Will Wright) takes the boy to the hospital.
