About The Snow
The Snow, published in 2004, is a science fiction novel by the British writer Adam Roberts. It is set in the present day and, latterly, the near future. It concerns the appearance of a heavy, prolonged fall of snow, which eventually blankets the earth in a layer of snow literally miles thick.

Cumbria snow: Power disruption continues after major incident

Power has been restored to about 13,000 homes in Cumbria after a major incident was declared due to heavy snow.
People were forced to seek temporary shelter as about on Saturday Night .
About 800 homes were still without power on Monday, with schools closed and some roads impassable.
