OK, a lot of people don't like spiders. But c'mon, these little guys are just stunning.
Seven new peacock spider have been described.
And just like their cousins in the genus Maratus, they all live in Australia and they all have the beautiful iridescent colors that make the male during courtship display.
The Man behind the descriptions is Joseph Schubert , a 22-year-old peacock spider specialist.
He is now posted at the top 12 of the 85 species known in this group. He often gets sent to identify the samples, but also leads the field work.
