This reality-documentary goes back in time to the Victorian period, in a social experiment exploring British history. The late-Victorian era marks a time when poverty in London's East End was rife, as millions of Britons endured difficult living and working conditions, struggling to make ends meet. To re-capture what life was like for these urban dwellers, a group of 21st-century people take part in an immersive experience that transports them to the period. Participants stay in a Victorian tenement based in the East End, which has been restored to its former glory.
