Thomas Pym Cope Life story
A Philadelphia merchant and business owner, Thomas P. Cope was once one of the wealthiest and most prominent men in the city. Cope was born in Lancaster, Pa. in 1768 to a Quaker family. As a young man, he was more attracted to city life, and moved to Philadelphia in 1786.
