Tom Umphlett Life story
Thomas Mullen Umphlett was a center and right fielder in Major League Baseball who played from 1953 to 1955 with the Boston Red Sox and Washington Senators. The son of Daisy Mullen Umphlett and Willie L. Umphlett, he was a three-sport athlete at Ahoskie High School, from which he graduated in 1950.
