About Twenty Million Sweethearts
Unable to attract any new acts, desperate talent agent Rush Blake (Pat O'Brien) signs up singing waiter Buddy Clayton (Dick Powell). Though Clayton bombs his initial audition, radio singer Peggy Cornell (Ginger Rogers) gives him another chance on her show. Soon, Clayton is a popular radio crooner. The two get engaged as Cornell leaves to pursue a Broadway career. Frantic to keep his new act popular with women, Blake plots to break apart the engagement.
