Uesugi Harunori Life story
Uesugi Harunori was the 9th daimyō of Yonezawa Domain in Dewa Province, Japan, under the Edo period Tokugawa shogunate of Japan. After retirement, he adopted the gō, or pen name, Yōzan. Today, he is best remembered for his financial reforms, and he is often cited as an example of a good governor of a domain.
