About USS Barney (DDG-6)
USS Barney (DDG-6) was a Charles F. Adams-class guided missile destroyer in the United States Navy. She was the third Navy ship named for Commodore Joshua Barney USN. Her original designation was DD-956. On 23 April 1957, it was decided to build her as a guided missile destroyer.
