About USS Haddo
USS Haddo (SS-255), a Gato-class submarine, was the first ship of the United States Navy to be named for the haddo. Her keel was laid down by the Electric Boat Company, Groton, Connecticut. She was launched 21 June 1942; and commissioned 9 October 1942, Lieutenant Commander Wallace L. "Pilly" Lent in command.
