Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga Life story
Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga OQ is a Latvian politician who served as the sixth President of Latvia from 1999 to 2007. She is the first woman to hold the post. She was elected President of Latvia in 1999 and re-elected for the second term in 2003.
