About Vernon Lake
Vernon Lake is a man-made lake in Vernon Parish, Louisiana. In 1963, Vernon Lake was created by the impounding of Anacoco Creek, creating a 4,200 acres lake for the purpose of water supply and recreation. The lake is five miles west of Leesville, and eight miles north of Anacoco Lake.
