About Vescovato
Vescovato is a commune in the Haute-Corse department of France on the island of Corsica. Its name derives from the Italian term for "bishopric". According to Lucien Auguste Letteron, the name would originate from the Bishop of Mariana, Opizzu Cortincu who founded the new village.
