About Wailupe Peninsula
Wailupe Peninsula was once a fishpond. In the 1930s, the Hawaiian Dredging company filled the pond with the coral and rock pulled out from the boat channel that was dredged around the pond's perimeter. Today, Wailupe Peninsula consists of three streets: Wailupe Circle, Akilolo, and Niuhi.
