William Urquhart Of Meldrum Life story
William Urquhart was the second son of John Urquhart and Jean Campbell, daughter of Sir Hugh Campbell 5th of Cawdor or Calder. William succeeded his father in 1726. He then succeeded to the Chieftainship of the Urquhart Family on the death of Colonel James Urquhart in 1741, when he then matriculated arms.
