Antioquia

Antioquia is a department in northwest Colombia, lying mostly within the Andes mountains and extending toward the Caribbean Sea. In the central Aburrá Valley, the departmental capital Medellín is home to the imposing Museo de Antioquia. The museum showcases works by Colombian artist and Medellín native Fernando Botero. It overlooks Plaza Botero (Plaza de las Esculturas), a square featuring several of his sculptures.
