Kaiping
Kaiping is a city in southern China, in the Pearl River Delta. It's known for the diaolou (fortified towers) that dot the nearby rural villages. Many of these well-preserved towers, including Kaiping Diaolou and Jingjiangli Village, are a fusion of Chinese and Western architectural styles. Outside of the city, Liyuan Garden features sculpted gardens, canals, grand archways and Italian-inspired pavilions.
