Monschau
Monschau is a town in western Germany, near the Belgian border. It's known for its medieval center, with half-timbered houses and narrow cobblestone streets. Looming over the town, turreted Monschau Castle hosts open-air concerts. The Red House, the 1752 home of a wealthy cloth manufacturer, includes lavish period furnishings and a carved, winding oak staircase. Trails traverse nearby Eifel National Park.
