North Conway

A village set amid mountains and forest, North Conway is a jumping-off point for hiking excursions on Mt. Washington and fall leaf-viewing tours on vintage trains, as well as ski trips and visits to Diana's Baths cascades. Hotels and restaurants host year-round visitors, who also come for bargains at the many outlet malls. Mt. Washington Observatory's science center features exhibits about the peak's extreme weather.
