Opperdoes

Opperdoes is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Medemblik, and lies about 12 km north of Hoorn. It has a certain fame for its local variety of potatoes, "Opperdoezer Ronde". The village was first mentioned in the late 11th century as Those, and means "bog with moss".
