Puerto Plata Province
Puerto Plata, a northern province of the Dominican Republic, lies between the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains of the Cordillera Septentrional. The capital, also called Puerto Plata, is known for its sandy beaches and the Fortaleza San Felipe, a Spanish colonial fortress and museum overlooking the malecón seaside promenade. The Teleférico de Puerto Plata cable car links the city to the Isabel de Torres mountain peak.
