Sakai Ward

Facing Osaka Bay, Sakai-ku has popular waterfront sites like Ohama Park and the Old Sakai Lighthouse, a hexagon-shaped wooden structure dating to 1877. Flanked by 2 vast imperial mausoleums, Daisen Park features springtime cherry blossoms, a teahouse, and a Japanese garden arranged around a koi pond. It's also home to Sakai City Museum, with local history exhibits and a virtual reality tour of the imperial tombs.
