Tarapacá Region
Tarapacá is a region in northern Chile, bordering Bolivia. It features the Humberstone and Santa Laura Saltpeter Works, whose preserved factories and buildings offer an insight into the region's mining and industrial heritage. Northeast in the Atacama Desert is the Atacama Giant, an ancient anthropomorphic motif on Cerro Unitas hill. On the Pacific coast, the regional capital of Iquique is known for its beaches.
