Zhongzheng District

Zhongzheng District is filled with grand government buildings, including the Baroque-style Presidential Office Building. Taipei Botanical Garden has indigenous plants and a historic herbarium, while 2/28 Peace Park has a Japanese garden, leafy paths, and the Taipei 228 Memorial Hall, remembering a violent civil uprising and massacre in 1947. The National Theater and Concert Hall hosts modern plays and live music.
