Amami Ōshima
Amami Ōshima is an island in the Amami archipelago, southwest Japan. On the northeastern peninsula, Tomori Beach has clear waters and offshore reefs. In Amami Park, the Tanaka Isson Memorial Museum displays works by the late painter, who once lived on the island. Farther south, kayaks cross rivers in the Mangrove Primeval Forest. On the island's southern tip, the Honohoshi Coast has rugged cliffs and giant pebbles.
