Broome County in the U. S. state of New York, as of the 2010 United States Census, had a population of 200,600. Its county seat is Binghamton. The county was named for John Broome, the state's lieutenant governor when Broome County was created. The county is part of the Binghamton, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area.
