Coímbra

Coímbra es una ciudad ribereña ubicada en el centro de Portugal que en su día fue la capital del país. Cuenta con un casco antiguo medieval bien conservado en el que se encuentra la histórica Universidad de Coímbra. Este edificio, construido en el terreno perteneciente a un antiguo castillo, es conocido por la Biblioteca Joanina, de estilo barroco, y su campanario del siglo XVIII. En el casco antiguo se erige la catedral románica Sé Velha, del siglo XII.
