Dazaifu

Dazaifu is a city on Japan's Kyushu Island. It's best known for the grand Tenmangu Shrine, which is surrounded by thousands of plum trees and popular with students praying for academic success. Nearby, Kōmyōzen-ji Temple has tranquil Zen rock gardens. Kyushu National Museum explores Japanese culture within the context of Asian history. Northeast of the city, a trail leads to a shrine at the peak of Mount Hōman.
