Drôme

Drôme is a department in southeast France. Vercors Regional Natural Park offers trails, forested mountains, meadows and wildlife like ibex and marmots. A gateway to the park, on the Rhône River, the town of Valence includes medieval St. Apollinaire Cathedral and the Valence Museum, with landscape paintings and prehistoric artifacts. Among the area's grand castles is the Grignan Château, an ornate Renaissance palace.
