Ixmiquilpan
Ixmiquilpan is a city on the Tula River in Mexico's east-central state of Hidalgo. The Church of San Miguel Archangel, once part of a 16th-century Augustine convent, has murals depicting Otomí mythology. The Hñähñu Culture Museum has displays on local handicrafts, and a garden with plants native to the Mezquital Valley. An elaborate Churrigueresque facade adorns the Spanish-baroque Nuestra Señora del Carmen Chapel.
