Vertus
Set amid hills covered in vines, charming Vertus is known for its champagne houses, many offering tastings and tours. Tree-shaded paths follow the line of former ramparts to 13th-century Porte Baudet, the only remaining town gate. Built over a spring and fronted by the Puit St. Martin, a large pond, the medieval Église St. Martin is home to the Baroque-style Aubertin organ.
