Upper Austria

Upper Austria is a state in northern Austria, bordering Germany and the Czech Republic. Straddling the Danube river, its culturally rich capital, Linz, features the Lentos Kunstmuseum with modern artworks, plus the Ars Electronica Center dedicated to electronic art. In the southwest, the resort town of Bad Ischl is home to the Kaiservilla, an elegant palace housing a museum with imperial artifacts and fine art.
