Department of Lima
Lima Region (Departamento de Lima) is an area surrounding Peru's capital. Stretching from Pacific Ocean beaches in the west to Andean highlands in the east, the region is known for wilderness preserves such as the Reserva Paisajistica Nor Yauyos-Cochas, which is distinguished by huge sandstone canyons and turquoise lakes. The region is also known for its locally produced wines and piscos (Peruvian brandy).
